Postdoctoral Position in wintertime Arctic aerosols chemical composition

A postdoctoral position is available at the “Laboratoire de Chimie de l’Environnement (LCE)
in Marseille (France). The position focuses on pollution studies in the framework of the
international ALPACA (Alaskan Layered Pollution And Chemical Analysis) project. More
information can be found at https://alpaca.community.uaf.edu/ and http://pacesproject.org/.
The position will focus on aerosol and VOC sources and evolution during wintertime in
Fairbanks, Alaska and will be based on analysis, including statistical methods, of high
resolution aerosol mass spectrometry (HRToFAMS; Aerodyne), Charon inlet (Chemical
Analysis of aerosol ONline) and PTRToFMS (Ionicon) data collected during the recent
ALPACA field campaign in winter 2022.

The candidate will collaborate with scientists from the French consortium of the ANR CASPA
project (Climaterelevant Aerosol Sources and Processes in the Arctic) and researchers from
several American and international institutions (https://alpaca.community.uaf.edu/wp

)

A Ph.D. in chemistry, atmospheric sciences, environmental engineering, or a related
discipline is required. Experience with computer programming, and/or complex data analysis
is necessary. Experience with mass spectrometry, aerosol instrumentation, Igor Pro or
another data analysis package is also desirable. Ability to work in a team with members of
our group and multiple collaborators, and to lead the writing of papers for peerreviewed
journals is essential.

To apply, please send an email describing your research interests, a CV, date of availability
